The Constitution of the Little Flower Catholic School Parent-Teacher Club
Article I
Name
The name of the group shall be Little Flower Catholic School Parent-Teacher Club (PTC).
Article II
Mission
The LFS PTC is to strengthen our children’s education and development through the collaborative efforts of parents, teachers, and administrators while promoting quality Catholic education in a faith-centered environment.
Article III
Objectives
1. To help parents and teachers embrace the Catholic identity of Little Flower Catholic School.
2. To foster communication and unity among parents, children, teachers, administration, spiritual community, and elected school officers.
3. To offer enrichment through educational and informative programs.
4. To provide financial support to the school through fundraising.
5. To sponsor spiritual and community activities.
6. To promote volunteer programs and resources for the school.
Article IV
Membership
Section 1. The membership of the Parent-Teacher Club shall consist of the priest(s) of the parish, the school administrator, the faculty, and the parents and/ or guardians of all children attending Little Flower Catholic School. Membership shall be open to all other parishioners who are interested in Catholic education and development of Little Flower youth.
Section 2. Each member of the Parent Teacher Club in attendance at the regular or special meeting shall exercise the right of one vote except for the president who shall cast the deciding vote in case of a tie.
Section 3. Annual family membership shall be $10.00 and dues shall be paid by each family on orientation day. Active support is encouraged by all administrators, staff, teachers, and parents.
Article V
Officers
Section 1. The selected officers of the PTC shall be: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Section 2. Any individual member or husband and wife can hold positions in the PTC.
Section 3. The length of all terms shall be two years. The new officers will be elected in at the April PTC meeting, by PTC members in a ballot form.
Section 4. In the event an officer resigns from his/her position, a written form must be submitted to the PTO President or in the event the President resigns, to the PTC Vice president. In event an office is vacated, the Executive Board shall appoint a replacement until the next general meeting where election will be held.
Article VI
Meetings
Section 1. All meetings are open to parents, teachers, LFS administration, LFS parishioners.
Section 2. Voting shall be limited to the Executive Board and to those who have attended the previous meeting. Attendance records will be available by the PTC Secretary prior to the voting meeting.
Section 3. An agenda will be available no less than two days prior to the PTC meetings and available on the LFS web site and posted on the PTC bulletin board.
Section 4. The Executive Board shall hold regular monthly meetings as scheduled at the start of the school year. One mandatory summer meeting for the purpose of goal/objectives formulation and budget will be held and then presented at the 1st General membership meeting in the fall.
Section 5. Special meetings of the Executive Board shall be held during the year as called by the President.
Section 6. Adequate notice of all meeting shall be announced to all members at least 4 days in advance and will be posted on the LFS web site and PTC bulletin board.
